My book A Worker Need Not Be Ashamed which was recently released is selling extremely well! While more data from retail establishments will be needed to make a full assessment, early indicators look very promising!
At one church where I spoke in May, I almost got writer's cramp from signing so many copies - a wonderful chore which took close to one hour to reach everyone in line!
A Worker Need Not Be Ashamed has become a popular graduation gift. (I just signed three copies for three MBA graduates from Elon University.) I can not think of a more appropriate gift for a graduate who is about to enter a working world full of potholes and alligators!
Barnes & Nobles reports that individuals who are buying my book are the same ones who have previously bought other related publications which they identify on their web site. One of these is Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life.
This is not surprising. After my church engaged in a 40-day study of Mr. Warren's book earlier this year, I could better understand why so many American workers are still lost in the wilderness! For millions, there is no purpose for fully living their life on the job!
These are the workers who just go to the job to get a paycheck and that's about it! They can be easily identified because they are standing at the door at closing time ready to run for the parking lot!
How sad it is for JUST ONE one person to throw away his or her God given abilities! God never intended that the workplace become a hell for one third of one's time on this earth.
After reading my book, you will find that living the purpose driven life is all about finding your mission, preparing for the mission, and exercising your Christianity on the job so others will see Jesus through your own behavior! When you fail to do this, I will guarantee that you will be perfectly miserable on the job - regardless of where you work or to whom you report!
In my book, I emphasize the importance of making choices - the RIGHT choices with regard to work! God will help you! In fact, he already has because he gave you a brain with intelligence which has to be used!
Start with PRAYER! Ask God to help you find your true mission in life and then listen and follow his will for your life!
