FOR
MANY AMERICAN WORKERS THE JOY OF WORKING HAS DISAPPEARED BECAUSE THE
CHRISTIAN
WORK ETHIC IS ABSENT!
Work
has become a dirty four-letter word for millions! Someone has said that
it can be defined as that annoying time between naps! Numerous surveys
have shown that over half of
American workers are dissatisfied and restless. Many have become
professional
job hoppers moving from job to job looking for happiness!
For
Christian workers, there is a great chasm between the pulpit and
the
workplace. The content of sermons seems to become lost before
arriving at
the workplace and, therefore, is not applied on the job. The
negative results ? ? ?
-
Work problems are
frequently
taken home and because the worker fails to separate family from labor
concerns, the marriage relationship is often adversely affected!
-
Bad messages about
work are
often overheard by children in the family who are "programmed" with
negative
messages instead of a positive understanding that the four-letter
word is an honorable calling from God! No wonder we
continue to raise up new generations who dread the sound of an early
morning alarm clock!
-
Work often becomes a
hell-on-earth lifestyle one third of a life time!
-
Lack of living the
Christian
life in the workplace is an indictment against Jesus Christ
who has
sent us to this earth to find our mission and to serve Him so others
can
see Him through us!
Because such consequences can be devastating, WORKER
MINISTRIES was created
in 2001
by Jim Hogsett, its founder and President. Simply stated, our
mission is to promote the Christian work ethic. Our ministries
reach out to help workers through three mediums:
-
Our web site which includes an
ASK JIM page which you can use
when you
need advice concerning job-related issues. Other help on this
site is also available including a valuable monthly newsletter.
These services are FREE!
-
The book A Worker Need
Not Be Ashamed written by Jim Hogsett. It contains 288
pages of answers to work frustrations based on the plain truth
about the Christian work ethic.
-
Jim Hogsett is available to speak to your
church congregation and in other organizations.
His message on "Living
the Purpose Driven Life in the Workplace" is being delivered in Sunday
services (morning or evening), Wednesday evening
services, and to special church groups (men, women, and
youth). In addition, we conduct workshops
which are described on the SEMINARS page of this
web site. All presentations are based
on God's Word in which the Creator of the universe refers to work over
800 times!
Jim
Hogsett believes in
walking the
talk and for this reason, he continues to practice the Christian work
ethic on the front line of the workplace. He exercises his
safety/training expertise as a part-time private consultant for a transit service
that provides transportation for clients who are unable to drive due to
physical/health problems. He also conducts a weekly prayer service for
residents at a alzheimer facility.
Such
work has been integrated into his full-time
responsibilities as
President of Worker Ministries.

NEWS
FLASH
Jim Hogsett spent
two wonderful days at Liberty University in
October 2006. During his
visit, he met with Dr. Falwell, Dr. Bruce Bell, and Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Knowles. Not enough can be said about the
warmth and generosity of these fine human beings and
witnesses for Christ.

In a
world where individualism is politically incorrect and
where many have given up on living a life with purpose,
Jim brings hope and a renewed spirit. His is a
timely message for all those who believe there must be
more to life than what the daily grind has to offer.
His focus on the worth and incredible potential of the
individual is truly a message for our time, and one which
is gaining popularity. Jim maintains an active itinerary,
but is available to speak to your organization.
